Globe Telecom is warning subscribings about a new text scam. Globe says the scam uses the network's Share-A-Load system to victimize its postpaid subcribers by offering discounts on their monthly bill. Unknowing victims are duped of P150 load instead.

According to Globe, one text message scam reads: "GLOBE Postpaid: Congrats! You're the one selected postpaid plan given P150 discount billing, to get your P150 discount billing just text 150 send to 2916XXXXXXX."

But some subscribers who may not have used Share-A-load before do not know that adding the prefix "2" to a Globe mobile number transfers the amount texted to the scammer.

Another scam that Globe recently discovered asks users to validate information from victims.

Globe Telecom reiterates that it has no ongoing promos that asks subscribers for personal information. Such tricks have long been used by scammers via mobile phone or the internet to dupe victims.
