Low Pressure Area (LPA) Spotted Moving Towards Visayas, Mindanao

Publish Date: Thursday, March 21, 2013 | 2:39 AM

After officially declaring the start of summer last Monday afternoon, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomic Administration (PAGASA) now says a potential storm is approaching the country. However, the agency clarifies that the weather disturbance has little chance of intensifying into a storm.

PAGASA spotted the low pressure area (LPA) more than 1,000 kilometers east of Mindanao and moving to the direction of northeastern Mindanao. It is expected to bring scattered rains and thunderstorms in some parts of the country especially in the Visayas-Mindanao region.

The LPA is still out of the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) but is expected to affect the weather in some parts of the country as early as tomorrow.

If, in case, the low pressure area intensifies, it will be named tropical depression ‘Dante (‘Bagyong Dante’), the fourth storm to enter the country this year.

Let’s all hope it doesn’t spoil the Holy week break next week. Adobo Talk PH
