The likely winners in the 2013 senatorial race have been revealed via the latest SWS Magic 12 survey. Seven candidates are the most likely next senators of the Philippines, two more have a big chance while six candidates will battle it out for the last three spots.
The latest SWS survey involved 2,400 registered voters nationawide according to Social Weather Stations, and was conducted from May 2 to 3. It was first published on Businessworld.
Senator Loren Legarda keeps the top spot despite the controversy surrounding her alleged misdeclaration of a condo unit in New York City. Senator Alan Peter Cayetano, the one allegedly behind the condo expose, is in second place.
Senator Chiz Escudero, meanwhile, has dropped to fourth behind Nancy Binay. Escudero's popularity has gradually gone down in SWS' previous surveys while remaining in second place in Pulse Asia's.
Completing the list of likely winners are Grace Poe, JV Ejercito Estrada and Cynthia Villar, who are occupying fifth to seventh spots.
Among those still with a good chance of making it to the Magic 12 are Koko Pimentel and Bam Aquino, both of Team PNoy, who occupy the eight and ninth places. However, it gets tricky from here.
According to the SWS, the last three spots with have to be fought out by six candidates - three from Team PNoy and three from UNA - Sonny Angara, Antonio Trillanes, Gringo Honasan, Jack Enrile, Ramon Magsaysay Jr., and Migs Zubiri. Adobo Talk PH
