'Bagyong Fabian' UPDATE: Tropical Depression 'Fabian' to Enhance Monsoon

The low pressure area that intensified into tropical depression 'Fabian' continued its northward course. 'Bagyong Fabian' is presently west of Ilocos Sur. Though it is a relatively weak weather disturbance, 'Fabian' will enhance the southwest monsoon and bring rains to the western part of Luzon.

Tropical Depression "FABIAN" has maintained its strength as it moves northward over the West Philippine Sea.

300 km West of Sinait, Ilocos Sur
Coordinates:17.2°N, 117.5°E
Strength:Maximum winds of 55 kph near the center 
Movement:North at 11 kph
Forecast Positions/Outlook:Friday evening:390 km West of Calayan, Cagayan or
outside of the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR)

'Fabian' is expected to exit the Philippine area of responsibility by Friday evening.
