A private group, the Citizens Crime Watch, has charged Janet Napoles and 28 lawmakers with plunder before the Office of the Ombudsman. Aside from Napoles, five senators and 23 former and current congressmen were also charged with plunder in connection with the P10 billion pork barrel scam.
The five senators named in the plunder case are Juan Ponce Enrile, Jinggoy Estrada, Bong Revilla, Bongbong Marcos and Gringo Honasan. Included in the congressmen charged before the Ombudsman are Ruffy Biazon and Joel Villanueva, and incumbent lawmakers Amado Bagatsing, Rufus Rodriguez and Victor Ortega.
The complaint arose from the alleged multi-billion-peso pork barrel scam through the means of corruption in the priority development assistance fund of the lawmakers using some of the bogus non-governmental organizations of Napoles.
Janet Lim Napoles is the alleged mastermind in the P10-billion pork barrel scam and the P900-million Malampaya fund scam.
Another case is being readied by the Department of Justice (DOJ) which is expected to be filed on Monday. Analysts believe the list of those to be charged is almost the same with the inclusion of chiefs of staff of lawmakers the only difference. Adobo Talk PH
