Manny Pacquiao has been raring to fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr. for years but the latter has been avoiding any encounter. But a new report now says a Pacquaio vs Mayweather deal has been finalized with the most eagerly-awaited boxing match up happening in September this year.
The report comes from Latino Post which quoted YouTube channel 78Sports TV about the Mayweather vs Pacquiao fight deal this September.
"Great news in the world of boxing. He [the source] is telling me that Floyd and Manny Pacquiao will be fighting in 2014 guaranteed and it's already done. Everything else that you will see will be just theatrics from here on out. But the fight is already done."
But how reliable is this 'leak'? Reportedly, the source has a good track record, having leaked previous Floyd Mayweather Jr. fights before they were officially announced. According to Latino Post, the unidentified insider was also the source of Mayweather's fights vs Robert Guerrero and Saul Canelo Alvarez weeks before these were publicly revealed.
If this report is true, then all of our prayers have been answered. Mayweather has finally stopped chickening out and agreed to fight Pacquiao.
But I seriously doubt this. Wasn't it just last month, about two weeks ago, when Floyd Mayweather Jr. announced that he is willing to give up his WBC title belt just to avoid a fight against Manny? Also, doesn't Floyd have a scheduled fight this coming May at the MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas? Adobo Talk PH
