The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Tuesday submitted before the Department of Justice (DOJ) its recommendation for the filing of criminal case against Cedric Lee, his sister Bernice, Deniece Cornejo and several others in connection with the mauling on comedian actor and television host Ferdinand “Vhong” Navarro.
Based on their findings, the NBI recommended to the DOJ the filing of serious illegal detention, serious physical injuries, grave threats, grave coercion, unlawful arrest and threatening to publish and offer to prevent such publication for a compensation against the Lee siblings, Cornejo, a certain Ferdinand Guerrero, Zimmer Rance, an alias “Mike”, john and peter does.
Among others, the NBI’s recommendation was based on the testimonies of security guard Lero Garvin, Navarro’s driver Rommel dela Cruz, and the CCTV footage taken on the night of Jan. 22, 2014 when Navarro was beaten “black and blue” in a condominium unit in Taguig City by the group of Cedric Lee after an attempted rape was allegedly committed on Cornejo.
Both Cornejo and Cedric Lee have failed to appear before the NBI to give their side of the story. Perfecto T. Raymundo, Philippine News Agency (PNA)
