UPDATED Number Coding Scheme in Parañaque City Starts Nov 3, 2016

Publish Date: Wednesday, September 14, 2016 | 1:00 AM

Parañaque City will implement number coding starting October 1, 2016. This is contained in a new ordinance city hall will release in the coming days to help ease traffic in the city, especially along the main thoroughfares of Sucat, Ninoy Aquino Avenue, etc.

Though the number coding system has been in effect all over Metro Manila for many years, Paranaque is one of the few cities not implementing it fully. Only some roads - namely portions of San Antonio Avenue near city hall and portions of the SLEX service roads - were under number coding. But with the worsening traffic in the city, the Olivares administration has seen it fit to implement it fully.

There is no word, though, about window hours. Will Paranaque observe the 10 AM to 3 PM number coding window hours like most Metro Manila cities, or will it follow the example of Makati and Las Pinas which have no window hours.

UPDATE: Sources at city hall say implementation of the number coding has been moved to NOVEMBER 3; with WINDOW HOURS from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM

UPDATE #3: Here is the OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT of the number coding scheme in Paranaque as posted on Mayor Edwin Olivarez's Facebook page:

An ordinance, though, is pending at city hall granting exemption from the number coding scheme to resident senior citizens of Paranaque City.
